Location: Downtown Los Angeles (Hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days remote after training period)

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000 DOE

A highly respected national law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support a busy team of attorneys in a fast-paced civil defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished legal professional who thrives under pressure, manages competing priorities effectively, and delivers exceptional client service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, revise, and proofread pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Handle state and federal court filings, including electronic filing procedures
  • Maintain attorney calendars, monitor litigation deadlines, and coordinate hearings, depositions, and meetings
  • Manage new matter intake, conflict checks, billing support, and time entry
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, expense reports, and other administrative tasks

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal secretary experience in a litigation environment
  • Strong civil defense experience required; labor & employment defense experience is a plus
  • Extensive state and federal e-filing experience required
  • Appellate filing experience is highly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
